Peak To Valley Race
Team captains for this years Appleton Rum Peak to Valley ski
race meet up tonight in Whistler to make any final changes, sign
waivers and preparation of the start list.
This popular annual event showcases teams of 4 in a relay style
ski race that starts at the peak of Whistler Saddle and finishes at
Dusty's, Whistler Creek Base.
The course plotted for this years Peak to Valley
race is over 5 km in length with a vertical drop of 1,443 meters
and 180 gates. This is much bigger then the average GS race with
only 250 meters of vertical.
Ski race teams consist of four members, with a stipulation that at
least one member belong to the opposite sex, with 2 competitors
racing on Friday and the remaining 2 race on Saturday.
Race start order is determined by the age of competitors, with the
oldest starting first.
Access to the Whistler Creekside Gondola will be open at 8:15 am
both days, weather permitting.
Start time of the race for both Friday and Saturday events is
11:00 am, so you don't have to up at the crack of dawn to catch
this exciting Whistler event.

race include The Way She Goes, Barry the Rooster, All Wayne's
Children, Ski School-Privates and the Blue Ice Wrecking Crew.
