Special Fire & Ice Show To Ring in Chinese New Year - Jan 31, 2014
|Date:||Friday, January 31, 2014|
|Where:||Skiers Plaza, Whistler Village|
Take in the legendary Fire & Ice show more often! Whistler Blackcomb is adding new shows to the line up, including this one which falls on the beginning of the Chinese New Year celebrations. 2014 is the year of the Horse, Those born in horse years are friendly and talented, good with money, witty and happy.
The Fire and Ice Shows take some of Whistler Blackcomb's best ski and snowboard instructors and ask them to jump through hoops of fire, while performing incredible stunts. This series is free, and comes with fireworks, fire dancers, and music.
This is a family friendly event, but if you are bringing children along, perhaps arrive about 15 minutes early to get a good spot in the front. If you're lucky, the kids may be brought up to answer a trivia question or two to win a prize! Previous guests have suggested getting hot chocolate beforehand, or even grabbing dinner close by so that you are ready with enough time to spare and are not in a rush. If you have had dinner at the GLC, you can see the performance from there. Otherwise, a good place to stand is near the bus loop, Excalibur Gondola, or in front of Dublin Gate Pub.
The Fire & Ice take place every Sunday from December 15, 2013 - March 30, 2014. The show takes place at the base of Whistler Mountain (Skiers Plaza) and begins at 6:30PM.
Following the show, head over to the Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC) for the notorious Afterburn Party where you can enjoy prize giveaways and party with live music from Whistler's legendary Hairfarmers. Adults only after 8pm.
