Fire & Ice

February 7th marks the Opening Ceremonies for the Sochi Winter Olympics, and Whistler Blackcomb is offering a special Fire and Ice Show to conincide with the ceremonies. With the new dates added to the Fire & Ice Shows, you can take in the legendary spectacle more often this winter season.

Watch as Whistler Blackcomb's ski and snowboard school jump through hoops of fire, while performing gravity defying stunts. This series is free, and comes with fireworks, fire dancers, and music.

This is a family friendly event, but if you are bringing children along, perhaps arrive about 15 minutes early to get a good spot in the front. If you're lucky, the kids may be brought up to answer a trivia question or two to win a prize! Previous guests have suggested getting hot chocolate beforehand, or even grabbing dinner close by so that you are ready with enough time to spare and are not in a rush. If you have had dinner at the GLC, you can see the performance from there. Otherwise, a good place to stand is near the bus loop, Excalibur Gondola, or in front of Dublin Gate Pub.

More Information

The Fire & Ice take place every Sunday from December 15, 2013 - March 30, 2014. The show takes place at the base of Whistler Mountain (Skiers Plaza) and begins at 6:30PM.

Following the show, keep the spirit alive at the Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC) for their Afterburn Party. You'll enjoy prize giveaways and party with live music from Whistler's own Hairfarmers.

Adults only after 8pm.
