Whistler Beer Festival - Sep 14, 2014
|Date:||Sunday, September 14, 2014|
|Time:||12PM - 5PM Beer Fest Grounds|
|Where:||Whistler Olympic Plaza & Whistler Village|
|Price:||$35 Entry to Beer Fest Grounds|
Back for a second go around the Whistler Beer Festival returns this September 11 - 14. This year's event brings together fifty breweries from B.C, the United States and abroad. During the event patrons are set loose in Whistler's Olympic Plaza with a sample sized mug and a thirst for all things beer. Walk the grounds with mug in hand and approach whatever brewery tent catches your eye. This event can be a great way to introduce yourself to new and exciting types of beers or a great way to wake up and wonder where you are.
Tickets for this year’s event will be released in two stages. On June 5th a limited number of early bird tickets ($30 - discounted rate) and gatecrasher ($45 - allows you access to the grounds 1 one hour early) will be released. Then a week later on June 12th general admission tickets ($35) will be released. Tickets for last year’s event sold out well in advance so make sure to grab your tickets ASAP.
So what do tickets get you any way? Good question. Tickets include one 4 - ounce sampling jug (don't lose it you only get one) five sampling tickets (don't worry advanced samplers more can be purchased), a $5 food voucher good for use at participating Whistler restaurants and last but not least memories... memories that you might not even remember.
Along with the sampling festival there are also daily Beer Fest related events to attend. For a complete breakdown of the daily events follow each day on the Aava event calendar.
Sunday, September 14
Still in Bed with Beer | 9AM - 12PM | Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub
You know what they say the best thing for a hangover is... sleep, Advil and lots of water... but who listens to those people - grab a pint of fruity but robust craft beer and head over to Dubh Linn Gate for breakfast and live music.
The Hangover | 10AM | Longhorn Saloon & Grill
Whistler's biggest and most popular bar is throwing a Sunday funday brunch over at the Longhorn. Grab some food and start the whole process over again with a few beers or delicious ceasars.
Bacon, Beer & Coaster Golf | 10AM | Tapley's Neighbourhood Pub
Grab an English style fry-up breakfast for only $16 and wash it all down with a 20oz pint from Tapley's awesome draft selection. Also take in a round of the always popular coaster golf while you’re at it.
Bat & Brew | 12PM | Meadow Park/Spruce Grove
Breweries organize teams to take on one another during this fun afternoon softball tournament. Word on the street is Mr. Burns is getting together the 1992 Springfield power plant crew for another go at the title.
