5 Must Do Winter Activities
If you are looking for ideas for activities in Whistler this winter, check out our list of 5 'must dos'. After a day of skiing or riding on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, there are many activities you can do in the evening, or on your 'rest day' - if you still have the energy! Winter activities are a great idea for any non-skiers or riders in your group who are looking for alternate ways to spend the day in Whistler.
1. ZIP TREK ECO TOURS
Experience the exhilaration of flying as you glide across Ziptrek's network of ziplines suspended high above the Fitzsimmons Creek that divides Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Ziptrek offers an entertaining combination of high wire adventure and ecological exploration on a choice of 3 guided zipline tours. For those who like a light adventure, TreeTrek Canopy Walk offers a guided interpretive adventure across a stunning network of suspension bridges, suspended stairways, boardwalks and ground based trails, with no zipping required. For more information check out our Zip Trek Packages.
2. HELI SKIING AND HELI SNOWBOARDING
Heli skiing/riding is an experience of a life time. Imagine skiing or riding on untouched powder, no lift lines and having access to 173 glaciers and 475 runs? You can do this with Whistler Heli-skiing! There are a number of different packages available from a 3 run package suitable for intermediate skiers to a 6 run package designed for advanced skiers and rider. Lunch is provided and there is an après and video party once you arrive in back in Whistler. Contact us for more information or to book a heli skiing and accommodation package.
3. TUBE PARK
This is the perfect winter activities for families and anyone looking for a fun time! The tube park is open from 12pm to 6pm, so it is the perfect activity after skiing. The tube park is located at Base II on Blackcomb Mountain. You can access the tube park by the Blackcomb Excalibur Gondola from the Village. The Tube Park has eight lanes varying in difficulty from Green to Blue to Black. A state-of-the-art conveyor lift makes travelling to the top a breeze. Experience a true Canadian adventure on a snowmobile tour. There a variety of different tours available to suit all ability levels. These include cruiser tours suitable for families, to all day backcountry powder tours for the more adventurous. One of the most popular tours is the Snowmobile Fondue tour.
