The Top 5 Cornucopia Events

CornucopiaCornucopia is Whistler's celebration of food and wine. This 4 day wine and food lover's extravaganza takes place from November 10thto 13th.

The weekend is filled with amazing events including seminars, wine tasting galas, winemakers dinner and infamous after parties.  With so many events happening, it's hard choosing which one!   How will you spend this amazing weekend? All the events will be phenomenal, but here is our list of the top 5 Cornucopia events.

1. WINEMAKER DINNER: BIG GUNS - ICONS OF THE WORLD

  • Where: Araxi Restaurant
  • When: Friday November 11th at 6pm

Araxi Restaurant will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Executive chef James Walt will create a distinctive eight course menu that showcases the excellence of Pemberton Valley's autumn harvest, with each plate meticulously matched to prized wines.  Ten stellar wineries will represent the world's outstanding wine regions.   The wines have been hand selected by wine director, Samantha Rahn.

2. CHEFS TRIP TO THE FARM

  • Where:  North Arm Farm, Pemberton
  • When: Saturday November 12th from 9am to 12pm

Join Fairmont Chateau Whistler's Executive Chef Vincent Stufano and Jordon Sturdy, owner of the North Arm Farm, on this amazing food adventure.  North Arm Farm is located in the spectacular Pemberton Valley just 25 minutes north of Whistler Village. Discuss the topics of harvesting fresh produce with farmer Sturdy before stepping into the Sturdy's county kitchen for some healthy home-style cooking and a delicious meal.  Transportation to and from the Whistler Conference Centre is provided.

3. CRUSH GALA GRAND TASTING

  • Where: Whistler Conference Centre
  • When: Saturday November 12th from 8pm to 11pm

CRUSH is the flagship event of the Cornucopia festival.  Held at the Whistler conference Centre, this evening allows you to sip and sample wines from around the globe.  Try wines from New-World to Old-World, Sparkling to Champagne and discover some new favourites.  There will be over 50 wineries to sample from.  This is a great event and one not to be missed!

4. MASQUERAVE

  • Where: Bearfoot Bistro
  • When: Saturday November 12th from 7pm to 4am

After the CRUSH Grand Tasting head to the Bearfoot Bistro for an unforgettable evening.  A weekend at Cornucopia will not be complete without attending this amazing night.  Masquerave will feature some of the country's top chefs, international wineries and entertainment.  Masquerave is also a benefit event for ONE DROP, an initiative of Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil.  Enjoy masterful canapés and sip from a range of 40 local and international wines, and celebrate with Dom Pérignon champagne.  There will also be international DJs, live musicians, light shows, burlesque-style entertainment, and circus art performance.   This will be an extraordinary night!

5. BUBBLES & BRUNCH PRESENTED BY THE FAIRMONT CHATEAU WHISTLER

  • Where: Fairmont Chateau Whistler
  • When: Sunday November 13th. Seatings at 11am, 11:15am & 11:30am

Enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning brunch at the wonderful Wildflower Restaurant at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Chef Stufano and his culinary team will highlight the best of this year's local harvest. Brunch will be complimented by sparkling wine by Oyster Bay.  This is the perfect end to a spectacular weekend!
