Snow, Snow & More Snow!
Happy Thanksgiving to our US guests! Today is also the official opening day of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Whistler Mountain opened 6 days ago to epic early season snow conditions. Blackcomb Mountain opened today and those first up the lifts got some amazing turns in the fresh powder.
THE WHISTLER SNOW REPORT
Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain have received 109cm (43in) of new snow in the last 7days!That's an incredible amount and the snowbase is sitting at a very healthy 130cm (51 in). 15-20cm of snow is expected to fall today and overnight. More storms are expected over the weekend bringing yet more snow to the mountains.
Lifts open on Whistler Mountain are the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, Emerald Express, Big Red Express, and Franz's Chair. Upload is via the Whistler Village Gondola and Creekside Gondola. Franz's chair will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Blackcomb Mountain the Excalibur Gondola, Excelerator Express, Wizard Express, Solar Coaster, Jersey Cream and Catskinner lifts are open. The tube park will be opening on December 17.
Experience the epic early season conditions and have fun attending some upcoming events in Whistler. Bizarre Bazaar takes place tomorrow afternoon and all day Saturday at the Whistler Conference Centre. This is Whistler's annual holiday craft fair and is a great place to find unique gifts for the Holidays!
WHISTLER FILM FESTIVAL
The Whistler Film Festival starts this Wednesday, November 30. Over the 5 days of the festival, watch over 80 innovative and original films from Canada and around the world. There will also be special events happening including the Spotlight Tribute & Gala featuring actor Michael Shannon.
