First Fire and Ice Show of the Season December 15

First Fire and Ice Show of the Season December 15

Whistler Blackcomb presents a free show each Sunday night called Fire and Ice. The first of the season is December 15th at 6:30 pm. Think Cirque de Soleil but outdoors, in the snow, at night. And, oh yeah...did we mention it's free?

Fire and Ice - A Show Not To Miss

Sunday, December 15th marks the first Fire and Ice show of the season. We are certain you do not want to miss this. Top skiers and riders, including Whistler Blackcomb ski schools best, put on a show each Sunday night at 6:30 at the Skiers Plaza, which is located in Whistler Village base between Whistler & Blackcomb Gondolas. Performers jump through hoops of fire, taking big air and pulling some explosive maneuvers while a DJ drops a beat and fire spinners dance. In the background, of course, are fireworks.

Did We Mention It's Free?

It's free. Bring some hot chocolate from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Shop down and enjoy the show after a day on the slopes. You should arrive early if it's a powder day, to get a good spot, but you can also enjoy the show from one of the many bars in the area. People say that the GLC is perhaps the best place to get a good seat, but Longhorn and Black's Pub are also good choices.

For the Kids

Children are of course welcome at the Fire and Ice show; in fact, they might enjoy it as much or more than anyone. If you are bringing children along, perhaps arrive about 15 minutes early to get a good spot in the front. If you're lucky, the kids may be brought up to answer a trivia question or two to win a prize! You might want to add in dinner at the GLC to keep things simple with the kids, but if you choose to watch from near the plaza, you could try to stand near the bus loop, Excalibur Gondola, or in front of Dublin Gate Pub.

Hope To See You There

This is a not-to-be-missed event in Whistler, so we hope to see you there at least once this season. As usual, if you need any help at all with this event or any other, please don't hesitate to ask one of our concierges. Offering suggestions that meet your specific needs for this or any other event is one of the things we enjoy doing the most for our guests. Concierge service is offered 24 hours a day.
