Sea to Sky Nordic Festival, March 22 - 30
The Sea to Sky Nordic Festival will be taking place this weekend. There are two events running throughout the Easter weekend the Cross Country Nationals and the Ski Jumping competition. Both events will be taking place at Whistler Olympic Park located in the Callaghan Valley. The competitions are FREE to attend.
Haywood Ski Nationals
The 2013 Cross Country Ski Nationals are being hosted at Whistler Olympic Park, home of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.The Haywood Ski Nationals are the preeminent cross country ski event on the National calendar. The event attracts the best age group skiers from across Canada and includes approximately 500 skiers competing in up to 5 competitions over an eight day period. - Whistler.com. Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Nationals
The Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined events are sure to draw a large crowd. The competition for the 2013 Nationals is looking fierce, with a strong contingent of Canadian women ski jumpers signed up to compete. - Whistler.com. Community Easter Egg Hunt, March 30
There will be a Community Easter Egg Hunt taking place this Saturday at the Myrtle Philip Community Centre. The event will take place from 9AM to 11AM and is FREE to the public to attend. There will be three separate egg hunt's set up for different age categories. Children ages 0-2 years, 3-6 years and 7+ years will look for eggs in different areas to keep things fair.
There will be food and snacks available for purchase at the egg hunt and the Easter Bunny will be stopping by to take pictures with the kids. Please come down with the family this Saturday and join us for a fun day at the Community Centre. Please be aware that parking is very limited at the Community Centre people are encouraged to walk, bike, carpool or take public transport to the event.
Nintendo Family Mountain Adventure, March 31
This Sunday Whistler Blackcomb will be hosting a special Nintendo Family Adventure Zone on both mountains. Families are encouraged to participate in the daylong event. The first step is to check in at either the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain or the Rendezvous Lodge on Blackcomb Mountain. From here families will be given a GPS tracking device and a map showing all the different Family Adventure Zones on the mountains. These Adventure Zones are equipped with snow castles, obstacle courses, family activities, treats and games. It's up to you which Adventure Zones you want to visit and how long you stay at each one. There are 12 different Adventure Zones over both mountains.
At the end of the day families will check out at the same place they checked in and receive a goodie bag filled with treats for kids and parents. Kids will also be placed into a draw for a chance to win awesome prizes from Nintendo and Whistler Blackcomb. The Nintendo Family Mountain Adventure costs $10 to participate in. Fire & Ice Show, March 31
Every Sunday the Whistler Blackcomb snow school puts on the legendary Fire and Ice show. Big air, blazing rings of fires and demonstrations from Whistler's best skiers and riders.
It's an awesome event for all members of the family and friends.
And did we mention that the Fire and Ice Show is FREE & features live entertainment, a DJ, and fireworks display. Yes, it does!
Find the Fire and Ice shows at the Skiers Plaza at the Whistler Village base between the Whistler & Blackcomb Gondolas. Join us this Sunday for a special Easter Sunday edition of the Fire & Ice show at 8PM.
