2013 Tough Mudder Whistler

Tough Mudder Banner

The ultra-popular endurance race Tough Mudder will be holding an event this Saturday & Sunday (June 21 & 22) at Whistler's Olympic Park.

The Tough Mudder brand has been holding events across the world for the past 10 years and is in the process of holding its second event in Whistler this year.

Each event is based around a 10 -15 KM long course that contains various obstacles along the way. Some of the more popular obstacles include the polar bear swim - where contestants must swim across a short pool of ice water, the electric shock - where competitors must run through fields of wires that administer electric shocks, and the wall - where competitors must navigate up and down a slippery 10 foot wall.

The purpose of the event is to test one's physical and mental strength. These courses are typically set up to mimic the same endurance courses British Special Forces use to train their elite fighting squads.

Tough Mudder Whistler will take place over two day's (June 21 & 22) at Whistler Olympic Park. The Park is located 15 minutes south of Whistler and was the host site for many of the Nordic events during the 2010 Winter Games.

There will be two separate running’s of the event on Saturday & Sunday. Following the races there will be an after party held on site. Alcoholic beverages will be available for anyone 19+ and a band will be on site to keep the party people moving.

If you don't want to race but still want to be there to see the madness you can purchase a spectator ticket for $40. The ticket grants you entry to watch the race and take in the after party that follows.
