Mountain Bike Whistler 2014 Season - Are You Ready?
We Know You're Asking: When's the Bike Park Opening?
And we feel a little bit glad that we aren't best-selling author and Whistler Bike Park manager Brian Finestone. As he put it back on April 22, he's asked at least 10 times per day when the Whistler Bike Park will open, and each time he's asked, he feels a little sick with all the excitement-slash-worry about how much "Ma Nature" will help him out with all the work to be done.
Good news: The opening date has been set and it's coming soon!
Opening Date Set for May 16, 2014
Soon, very soon, Grasshopper, you'll be able to take your bike up the lifts and shred those slopes as hard on your bike as you did this winter (or last week...what with the incredible spring skiing we've had this year...).
It's time to put away your skis and dust off your bike. Trade in your Armadas for your Giant. Take off your North Face outerwear and goggles and don your shorts and body armour. Yep, it's that time of year again.
And we're with you every step of the way. We've still got the HD Go Pros for every guest, and we can't wait to see your bike edits during apres. Our bike tuning and washing station is ready to go, and we've readied the complimentary cruisers for those of you who'd like a more mellow biking experience during your time here.
There's only a couple weeks to go before official bike season starts, so get ready to take in the Whistler Bike Park in all her glory. The Whistler Bike Park Team has been gearing up for an epic season to help make all of us totally cognizant of what it is possible to do on a mountain bike...to make sure you've got something you can look forward to accomplishing, one day.

More to the Bike Park Than Just a Park
It's good to know that Whistler Bike Park is more than just a park. If you need to rent gear, you can do that at Garbanzo Bike and Bean & grab a bite to eat while you're there. And you can't do better than front row seats at the GLC, right at the base of the Whistler Bike Park. At the Blackcomb lot #8, there's 8,400 square feet of indoor bike park, too...just in case the 4,946 feet or 1,507 metres of lift-serviced descending mountain bike trails isn't enough for you. Of course, the Whistler Bike Park has 2 skill centers, a jump park, a drop off park and the Boneyard Slopstyle Park too.
So we have just one question for you. There are 16 days until Whistler Bike Park opens. Are You Ready?
