The Showcase SHOWDOWN return's for it's unrepresented 20th year on March, 25, 2017. Canada's longest running snowboard competition was originally inspired by the Playstation game, Cool Boarders 2. In honour of the cult classic game this year's 'King of the Mountain' contest will feature a Cool Boarder's Theme.
There will be 5 Levels (Features). Riders will be ranked in each level. Points will be awarded for each ranking. The rider with the most points at the end of the day will be crowned "King of the Mountain"
- Snake Run - timed event
- Euro Carve - judged event
- Jump (35' option and a 10-15' option) - judged event
- Rails (2 options) - judged event
- 1/4 pipe - judged event
Entry is open to the public. Visit Showcase Snowboards in the Whistler Village for more information (Registration open March 1). Entry fees are $30 - Adult, $15 Youth & Child.
$7500 in cash prizes will be handed out to the top finishers in each age and feature category. FREE swag will be available to all entries and people in the crowd throughout the day.
Spectators need a lift ticket to load the Emerald Express Chair. Discounted lift tickets are available for athletes and spectators at the Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations offices.
