Tube Park Opens
Beginning this Saturday, December 15 the Blackcomb Mountain Tube Park will be open for the winter season. The Tube Park is located at Blackcomb Mountain's Mid-Station and is home to a number of tube runs that can be sled down on giant inflatable tubes.
There are several different runs varrying speed and difficultly. Each run is 1000 feet long from start to finish. A conveyor belt can be accessed for easy transport from the bottom to the top of each run.
As previously mentioned the Whistler Blackcomb Tube Park is located at Mid-Station on Blackcomb Mountain. For those that don't know this is located about a 7 minute drive or chairlift up Blackcomb Mountain. Which means you can either take a free chairlift (Excalibur Gondola) from the base of Blackcomb Mountain or you can drive up via Glacier Lane and Park in Lot 8. Either way you are situated right beside the park when you arrive.
The Whistler Blackcomb Tube Park charges according to an hourly rate. Below is a quick break down of the prices.
|Price||Adult (19-64)||Child 12 & Under||Youth (13-18) & Senior 65+|
|1 Hour Rate||$23||$18||$21|
|2 Hour Rate||$31.50||$25||$29.50|
Hours of Operation
The Tube Park is open 7 days a week and will be open on weekdays from 11AM - 6PM and on weekends & holidays 10AM - 6PM.
If you've never been tubing before you’re in for a treat. The Tube Park is a great place to spend a day in Whistler. You can also get going surprisingly fast if you wander over to the faster tracks. At the same time it's awesome that you can bring the whole family out and gauge which track/speed is right for everyone. Another cool feature is the ability to link tubes and use the run together as a group.
