Top of the World Bike Trail Now Open

Top of the World Bike TrailFor the first time ever Whistler Mountain Bike Park will open the alpine to mountain bikers during the summer months. This will allow bikers to make their way to the top of the mountain and ride along alpine-specific single track trails.

Construction of the trails was headed up by Whistler's own Gravity Logic and offers riders incomparable views of the surrounding lakes, glaciers and peaks that sit atop the mountain. The inclusion of this new trail takes Whistler Bike Park to over 60 trails and 4,964 feet of vertical, making Whistler Bike Park the largest bike park in North America.

In order to get to the trail riders will take the Peak Chair to the top of Whistler Mountain. The new 'Top of the World Trail' descends through the sub alpine forest and leads riders back to the Garbanzo Zone. The trail is restricted to 100 riders per day to provide a level of seclusion while riding down the trail. This one of a kind track is meant to give you the feeling that it's just you and mountain.

The trail will be open from now until September, 23 and cost's $15 on top of the day pass you must purchase in order to enter the mountain bike park. Remember only 100 riders are allowed up per day so the earlier you get there the better.

If you're a mountain biker and plan on visiting the Whistler area make sure to jump on the opportunity to race 4,926 vertical feet down this new alpine trail.
