Fire & Ice is Heating Up
Whistler Blackcomb decided to add four new shows during the month of February (Plus one more on January 31, too!) The January 31 show was added as a special way to help ring in the Chinese New Year. The February 7th is set to coincide with the Sochi Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies, and then they just decided to go nuts and added in 3 more events on consecutive Thursdays during the month of February. These events are free, begin at 6:30, and are a spectacle of, well, fire, ice and great music. Expect fireworks, fire dancers, and some of Whistler Blackcomb's best ski and snowboard instructors jumping through hoops of fire.
BC Family Day is February 10th
And that means 50% off lift tickets for BC residents. The weekend of February 7 - 10th is shaping up to be an incredible family weekend: Two Fire & Ice shows, plus the 50% off lift tickets. Perfect. This is the second annual BC Family Day, which was started by Christy Clark to give BC residents an official February Holiday. So take advantage, and get up here to ski till you drop...and then take a soak in our hot tub...
Speaking of Families...
During the month of February, Whistler continues its tradition of offering Family Apres events on Monday and Wednesdays. These events are free, and during the month of February, the Apres events on Monday nights will have a special "Games" theme to coincide with the Olympics. Come on out to the Olympic Village for some family fun!
All Rounder Park Jam + Kokanee Race Series
All ages and abilities can compete at these events in February. The All Rounder is a series of slope style, rail jam and half pipe competitions held throughout the season by Whistler Blackcomb. There is a $30 entry fee and the February competition is set for the 16th.
The Kokanee Race Series is a series of recreational racing held on Thursdays throughout the season. February races are set for the 6th, 20th and 27th. The series is open to skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders with different gender and age divisions. Helmets are mandatory.
We look forward to seeing you this February. If we can help you in any way, let us know.
