Tough Mudder Whistler

Tough Mudder makes its return to Whistler this June 20 & 21, 2015. The event will once again take place at Whistler Olympic Park located in Whistler's Callaghan Valley.

During the event, participants must complete an 18KM run/hike scattered with various obstacles along the way. The course will contain 15 - 20 obstacles, many of which require help from your teammates or fellow competitors to complete. Teamwork and camaraderie is the founding idea behind Tough Mudder.

Some of the more popular obstacles include the Funky Monkey - contestants swing hand over hand along a large ladder atop an icy cold bath below, the Ladder to Hell - contestants climb up a 20+ foot wooden ladder with 4 foot spacing’s between each rung, and Electric Shock Therapy - contestants run through a series of hanging wires that administer electric shocks.

This event surely isn't for the light at heart as the race tests participants’ mental, physical and emotional strength. However the sense of accomplishment you feel when you've finished and left everything you have on the course is a euphoric feeling.

Tough Mudder is a great activity to do with a group of friends, family or even co-workers. The event brings people closer by promoting teamwork and encouragement within the group.

Getting There

Tough Mudder is held at Whistler Olympic Park. The park is located about 20 minutes south of Whistler heading towards Vancouver. There will be plenty of signs directing you to the event, however, you are officially looking for the Callaghan Whistler turnoff. From the turn off you drive about 10 minutes down the road to the venue.

There are two ticket options for Tough Mudder. The basic ticket is $209 and includes race entry, headband, finisher T-shirt, free beer and free photography. Basic tickets can upgrade to a VIP ticket for an extra $69, this gets you express check-in, exclusive course briefing, private hospitality area, and more perks.

Following the race, Tough Mudder hosts an after-party on the Olympic Plaza grounds. Competitors get to revel in the accomplishment of completing the race plus can listen to some live music and swig some complimentary beers.

Later on that night Tough Mudder hosts the official Post Party at Garfinkel's, featuring DJ Adam Doubleyou - 2013 Red Bull Thre3style Canadian Champion.
