BC Bike Race Preview
The BC Bike Race is a premier long distance mountain bike race held over 7 days in beautiful British Columbia. The race takes part in 6 stages with bikers making their way up the West Coast, Vancouver Island and Sea to Sky trail.
The event kicks off on June 27th, 2015 when riders make the 48 KM trek from Nanaimo to Cumberland. In total riders will complete some 300+ KM with vast elevation changes in 6 days. This race doubles as a test to ones skills and endurance as well as giving riders the opportunity to explore the backroads of BC.
This 7-day endurance race attracts some of the biggest names in mountain biking looking to stake their claim as B.C's best. At the same time, the event is open to the public and is a great challenge for everyday riders.
A cool tradition the BC Bike Race is known for the unbelievable fan support! Every year fanatic supporters line the trails to cheer on riders as they complete their daily stages.
Day 7 - The Whistler Stage | Saturday, July 4
The final stage of the event takes place entirely in Whistler. Riders will start at Whistler Olympic Plaza and wind their way through a series of Whistler's most famous single track trails including Comfortably Numb, Green Lake Loop & Lost Lake Trail. In total riders will cover some 20 KM, climbing and descending over 857 meters during the final stage.
Riders will finish their day when they arrive in Whistler Village to cross the finish line at Whistler Olympic Plaza. Riders will begin arriving in the Village around 11 AM. Every year hundreds of supporters come out to cheer on these amazing athletes at the finish line as they complete their 7-day journey. Join us from 11 AM to 2 PM at Whistler Olympic Plaza on July 4th, 2015 for the final stage of the BC Bike Race.
