Red Bull JoyRide

Red Bull Joyride Whistler

When: Saturday, August 15
Time: 4:30 PM - 8 PM
Where: Whistler Mountain Bike Park

Part aerial ballet, part high flying circus the Red Bull JoyRide is the biggest freestyle bike competition in North America. The event shuts down Whistler for the afternoon when thousands of fans head to the base of Whistler Mountain to take in the event. The atmosphere is intense and riders throw down for the hefty $75,000 first place cheque and valuable FTB World Tour points. Each year athletes push the limits of what's possible on a bike creating new tricks and going bigger and harder. This year's event is already shaping up to be a classic with two Canadian boy serving as this year's front runners. FTB World Tour point leader Brett Rheeder goes into this year's event having won all three prior World Tour stops. However last year's winner and three time past champion Brandon Semenuk hasn't competed in this year's World Tour and is seeking to defend his title once again. Both competitors finished 1, 2 at last year's event are sure to be locking horns again at this year's contest.

You can catch the Red Bull JoyRide live from the base of Whistler Mountain (Whistler Mountain Bike Park) from 4:30PM - 8PM. Make sure to get there plenty early if you want to grab a good spot.
