Spring in Whistler — You Can Do It All!
This spring, you can ski until May 30, enjoy lazy après every afternoon in the sun-soaked patios dotting the Village, and you can begin to bike and golf, too.
Whistler's spring skiing is arguably the best of the year, with tee-shirts and goggle tans prevailing as the fashion choice, while the sun + excellent snow combine to give you an experience you won't soon forget.
Did we mention the mountain-top cafes?
WSSF Starts it Off
This weekend the World Ski and Snowboard Festival starts things off welcoming spring with music, fashion, photography and some friendly competition.
This super long festival brings outdoor music every afternoon plus party after party for an incredible ten days and nights of fun.
As their mantra states: "Party in April; Sleep in May"
The Spring Party Continues
The party we call spring in Whistler continues on patios everywhere. Après in Whistler is always prime but in spring, you get sunshine, patios bursting with happy people sporting goggle tans and that look of carefree abandon that you just can conjure up out of nowhere.
You have to truly appreciate the sunshine to experience it.
And, though powder is a wonderful thing, every spring we acknowledge that we're ready for the sun. We're ready to bring out the golf clubs and the bikes and tee shirts and shorts.
So we come together on patios throughout the Village to celebrate the sun, the warmth and the wonderful loveliness of the birds singing again.
The Party Doesn't Stop
Spring allows us to ski like we've never skied before — stopping for a mountaintop beverage and snack, glorying in the sun + snow combination, and simply ingesting every second of the end of the season.
Because it will end at some point.
But before it does, one of the very best things about spring occurs: we are able to ski and golf in the same day if we want to, and certainly during the same trip to Whistler. Golf starts in Pemberton now and follows shortly in Whistler with most courses opening in early May. This gives a good month where both golf courses and the mountain are open for business.
That generosity of spring, that graciousness seeps into our spirits, too. Notice the welcoming air around you, notice the smiles (well, they were there all winter long, too).
Enjoy Whistler All Year Round
Really, every season in Whistler is one to experience. But spring, with its dual nature — saying a gentle goodbye (but not yet!) to snow and a welcoming hello to the summer sports, is wonderful to experience.
We hope to welcome you this spring, whether for the World Ski and Snowboard Festival or simply to enjoy some gorgeous outdoor fresh mountain air with friends.
