It’s The (Whistler Village Beer Fest) Weekend!

Craft brewing has garnered quite the following throughout British Columbia with plenty of new craft breweries popping up, creating a booming industry that locals love to support. And from this influx of craft beers comes the fourth annual Whistler Village Beer Festival, this Sept 14 - 18.

The WVBF is already up and running, starting last night with a tour of the Whistler Brewing Company and BBQ. But don’t worry because the events are just about to begin!

Look at the full schedule.

Are you ready to start your weekend off early? Well you better get ready because you’ll want to start your night off right, at the Longhorn Saloon listening to the bluesy sounds of Neverland Nights. Then you’ll want to head over to the Dubh Linn Gate for Beefsteak with Warless. This all-you-can-eat steak dinner is beer drinkin’ carnivores paradise. At this first-come, first-served feast you’ll be treated to loud conversations, beer, meat, bread, laughter, and more beer. Like we said before this one is sure to fill up quick, so make sure to get there quick!

On Friday, Barley & The Beast returns for its third annual appearance at the Whistler Village Beer Festival. Always a sell-out event, this 5 course dinner features locally sourced ingredients paired perfectly with local craft beers from Whistler Brewmaster, Matt Dean.

You’ll definitely want to get up early on Saturday so you’re fresh-faced and ready for the WVBF Main Event. At Whistler’s Olympic Plaza there’s going to be live music from The Ontarios, the Hairfarmers, and more, all while being able to sample over 120 craft beers.

Then get dressed in your Sunday best to go see the Best in Fest Awards! The votes will be tallied to find the fan favourites among WVBF. After the awards, head back over to the Olympic Plaza for the final day of the Main Event with even more live music, food, and beer to be drank.

Or maybe you’ve already had your fair share of adult beverages for the weekend. How about using your Sunday to go on the annual Terry Fox Run? This would be a perfect chance to jog off all those extra calories you consumed this week. Grab your bikes, rollerblades, wheelchairs, even dogs (on leash, of course) and come enjoy a brisk 4 - 7 km course.

For more information and to register for the Terry Fox Run, go to their website.

This weekend promises to be another busy one for our beloved Whistler. We hope to see you all out there, Cheers!
