Whistler Bike Park Is Open For 2017 Season

It’s that time of year again, mountain bike season has officially started at Whistler Blackcomb! Today, marks the 2017 opening of Whistler Blackcomb’s Mountain Bike Park.

The summer weather has finally descended upon Whistler, and just in time to start the biking season off with a beautiful May Long Weekend. It’s time to grab the helmet and pads and head up the hill to hit those dirt jumps.

Bike Park Opening 2017 - Gondola

The Fitzsimmons Express will be uploading riders starting May 19, from 10am to 5pm until June 9th. 90% of the Fitzsimmons Zone has been opened for the first day of the season, including A Line, B Line, Smoke & Mirrors, Ninja Cougar, Crank It Up, and a whole lot more. Extended Play until 8pm will happen on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

On June 10th, the Fitzsimmons Zone hours get extended to 10am - 8pm daily!

Creek Zone and Garbanzo Zone are both set to open up for bikers on June 17th, depending on weather conditions. Creekside Gondola operating hours are similar to early Fitzsimmons, 10am to 5pm, while the Garbanzo Express will be running from 11am to 7pm. 

Whistler Bike Park Opening Weekend

Whistler Mountain Bike Park’s new sponsor, GT Bicycles will be starting the season off right on opening weekend! GT Bicycles will be hosting a riders lounge at the base of the Fitzsimons Express over May long weekend in Whistler. 

Riders from the bike park and visitors are invited to hang out, relax, meet GT athletes, eat, drink, and get some minor bike tune-ups by our on-site mechanic. This definitely something to check out if you’re in Whistler this weekend!

Bike Park Opening 2017

Looking to buy a bike park pass? Early Bird pricing is still available until June 9 and gives riders the chance to save up to $111 on their 2017 passes. Early Bird Passes include: 

  • Unlimited Pass - $639
  • Ten Day Pass - $430
  • Five Day Pass - $269
  • Twilight Pass - $259 (unlimited riding after 4:30pm)
  • Top of the World Pass - $259 (bikers get one ride up to the highest elevation per day)
