Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday In Whistler

Come out and celebrate Canada Day in the mountains this year in Whistler! Every weekend here is packed full of events and activities and Canada’s 150th birthday weekend is no different. Enjoy a truly Canadian celebration in the incredible Sea-to-Sky Corridor, complete with a parade, fireworks, and symphony music. Here are a few things you can do in Whistler for Canada Day 2017.

Canada Day 2017 - Parade

Canada Day Parade

If you’re in Whistler Village at noon on Canada Day, prepare to watch a parade go by! Whistler’s Village Stroll will be populated with all the parade essentials on Canada Day as the celebration starts in Whistler. Think parade floats, mounties, kids on bikes, beauty queens, music, and more family fun. Bring the kids out to watch the Canada Day parade and don’t be scared about finding a good seat because they’re going all over the Village Stroll!

Canada Day 2017 - Fireworks

Whistler Canada Day Fireworks

We all love a reason to shoot off some fireworks and what better reason than celebrating 150 years of Canada! Experience an incredible light show as fireworks cascade down the side of Whistler Mountain. Bring the family out at 10 pm to enjoy the fireworks at Skier’s Plaza. Fireworks are a sure ‘fire’ way to end any good night, we’ll see you there!

Canada Day 2017 - VSO

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

Unwind to some amazing music at 8:30pm in Whistler’s Olympic Plaza for free! The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is set to play a free performance on Canada Day evening for guests and visitors. Grab a blanket and enjoy a nice dinner on the grass as a full symphony serenades you!

Also on July 1st, guests are invited to celebrate Canada Day with a free performance by the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute at the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain.

150 complimentary Peak 2 Peak 360 Experience tickets will be given out to people who attended, courtesy of CIBC. Get to the base of Whistler Mountain early enough and you might just score a free ticket to ride the gondola and watch the festivities!
